| The Ritual: |
| What you'll need: |
| A fireplace or bonfire |
| 4 white candles |
| Whole milk & cookies |
| A bough from your Yule tree (one for each person) |
| Set the Altar: |
| Use the white candles. |
| Fill your Chalice with whole milk (please do not insult the Goddess with some watered down 2% milk). Have a dish of cakes or cookies. |
| If you have them use an image of Bridgid and a Bridgid's cross. |
| Ground and center |
| Cast and call |
| Call the Goddess Bridgid into your circle. |
| Invite her. |
| Announce your intentions and ask for Her blessing by saying: |
| "We have come here to sweep clean our home. To cast away the slumber of Winter and welcome the Spring." |
| Next ask: |
| "Great Goddess, powerful Bridgid, we have called you here to ask your blessing" |
| Now each person should picture what s/he would like to get rid of (Illness, bad habit fear...) and ground the image into their bough. |
| Now each person places their bough into the fire envisioning all the negativity burning, becoming pure and renewed and flowing into the earth. |
| When everyone has done this, make the statement: |
| "Beautiful Bridgid, Lady of Spring, cleanse and renew me with your sacred fire!" |
| Bless, eat and drink the milk and cookies. Do not drink all of the milk (leave about a half chalice full) |
| Say farewell to and thank the great Goddess |
| Release the Quarters and take down the circle |
| Later, take your Chalice outside and silently pour the rest of the milk as an offering to Bridgid |
